Replacing two separate aging facilities that were no longer fit for purpose, East Dunbartonshire Council wanted to combine an existing Adult Day Care Centre and Leisure Centre in one new, inclusive, accessible, modern and community-focused environment.

Overview
Delivered by McLaughlin & Harvey through the SCAPE Scotland Construction framework, the new Allander Leisure Centre reflects the needs of the local community and is a space of opportunity for those with learning and physical disabilities, and the wider community.
The Leisure Centre offers a 25-metre, eight-lane swimming pool and 20m training pool with movable floor, sauna and steam vitality room, hydrotherapy pool, gym and studios, an eight-court games hall, two squash courts, changing facilities and café.
In the Adult Day Care Centre, visitors can make use of flexible meeting rooms, quiet spaces and office, dementia, rebound, sensory and physiotherapy treatment rooms, arts & crafts, dance and music rooms, changing facilities and kitchen.
