Overview
In 2022, Balfour Beatty completed its centenary project through the SCAPE Civil Engineering framework: the A51 Tarvin Junction for Cheshire West and Cheshire Council.
The £7 million project delivered major junction, carriageway and roundabout upgrades to reduce congestion and increase capacity along the A51 between Tarvin and Chester. To mark completion, the team also planted 100 trees with the Council.
As sole contractor for the SCAPE Civil Engineering and SCAPE Scotland Civil Engineering frameworks since 2015, Balfour Beatty has worked with over 40 public sector customers to deliver 100 projects worth £530 million, including schemes in Reading, Perth and Ebbsfleet.
Key impact of the partnership:

- £360 million of the project value was spent with supply chains within 40 miles of the project sites
- 55,000 tons of waste has been diverted from landfill
- Numerous volunteering and fundraising schemes
- £264 million of social value added to local communities
