A new walking and cycling bridge is being built over the River Trent, marking Nottingham's first new river crossing in over 65 years.
The 87metre, 175tonne bridge is being delivered for Nottingham City Council by Balfour Beatty through the SCAPE Civil Engineering framework, and is a step forward in creating a greener, more connected route for local communities. Pick Everard is providing project management, cost management and health and safety support through Perfect Circle using the SCAPE Consultancy framework, showcasing extensive collaboration throughout. The bridge was craned into position in November 2025, using one of the largest cranes in the world, and is expected to open in Spring 2026.
