In 2015, Doncaster City Council commissioned its first project with SCAPE through the SCAPE National Major Works Framework, marking the beginning of a partnership that would span more than a decade. The relationship has been championed at the highest level, with the Mayor of Doncaster playing a key role in overseeing and advocating for SCAPE.

Within the first year alone, the council commissioned SCAPE to deliver projects valued at £7.45 million. These included a new campus for the National College for High Speed Rail, a £14 million housing development, Carr Lodge Primary Academy for more than 200 pupils, and the £6.5 million Kirk Sandall Waste Transfer Station.

Over the past ten years, this successful collaboration has enabled the council to reinvest in local businesses, support the development of local skills, and achieve strong value for money.

Most recently, SCAPE has partnered with Doncaster City Council on Gateway One— a flagship £32 million, five-storey digital technology hub located adjacent to Doncaster Rail Station.

As we continue to transform services to the people of Doncaster through its built environment, it has been vital to deliver new buildings quickly while also ensuring that the investment is felt right across the local community. On a number of SCAPE projects undertaken for the council, I don’t believe any other option could have delivered so much for so little in such a short timeframe.
