In December 2021, SCAPE Group announced its agreement to acquire the Construction Waste Portal, a digital platform designed to help the construction industry more effectively predict, plan, manage, and reduce waste. The portal helps contractors control waste-related costs while promoting sustainable practices across various projects.
Launched in 2020 by John Logan, now the Director of Sustainability at SCAPE, the platform was created specifically for construction firms and contractors seeking a smarter way to manage waste. It also offers a clear marketplace where waste management and resource companies can present their services to construction clients in a transparent and accessible manner.
The Construction Waste Portal addresses a long-standing challenge in the industry: the unpredictability of waste quantities and disposal costs that can disrupt project planning, budgets, and sustainability goals.
Since its integration into SCAPE, the portal has experienced significant growth and is nearing its fifth anniversary as part of the organisation. Being part of SCAPE Group has provided valuable exposure to various partners, access to essential networks, and a shared commitment to improving resource efficiency and sustainability across the sector through SCAPE’s frameworks.
