Centred around the beautifully restored MK XVI Spitfire, the extension at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery inspires future pioneers in STEM. Delivered for City of Stoke-on-Trent by Morgan Sindall Construction and Perfect Circle via the SCAPE Construction and Consultancy frameworks, the project celebrates the legacy of Stoke-born innovator RJ Mitchell, original designer of the Spitfire.
Beyond the build, it generated £950,000 in social value, with 40% of spend local, 100% through SMEs, 101 apprentice weeks delivered, and strong community and educational engagement, making it a historical landmark project.
