After 40 years, the external mosaic tiles and substrate of the building faced significant deterioration, leading to water ingress and health and safety risks for the public.

Refurbishment of the façade was completed for Nottingham City Council by G F Tomlinson, utilising SCAPE's Regional Construction framework to replace over one million tiles.

This project enhanced public safety, minimised service delivery failures, and saved over £10k annually in maintenance costs. It was completed on time and within budget, earning 100% client satisfaction.

“Nottingham Royal Concert Hall, as Grade II listed building, required a sensitive approach. GFTomlinson worked alongside the Council and Conservation Officer, understanding our concerns and incorporating the constraints we imposed whilst providing sensible solutions to ensure we had the budget available to deliver the work. Their knowledge of the local area added great value to the project, not least when working with the NET Team who managed the adjacent tram services. The project was delivered on time and under budget during an unprecedented pandemic that presented challenges in its own right.”
